Rachel Melvin (ex-Chelsea Brady, DAYS) will be staring in a new independent film with Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls, Heroes, Chosen).
Madtown will center around Ventimiglia's character, who survived a traumatic childhood including seeing his sister kill their abusive parents. He finds support and acceptance as an adult, but his life is shaken up when his older sister is released from jail. She insists he leave his friends and travel with her to Chicago. It has not yet been released whether Melvin will play the sister or another role in the film.
Melvin was Chelsea Brady on Days of our Lives from 2005 until 2009. Initially Chelsea was shocked to learn that the people who raised her weren't her biological parents. The DiMera family had actually stolen her from Bo Brady and Billie Reed, who thought their baby was stillborn, when she was a baby.
Melvin exited the show in 2009. When Chelsea learned that Billie had been in a serious car accident, Chelsea moved to London in order to help her mother through her recovery.
In addition to Madtown, Melvin will star in the upcoming comedies Dumb and Dumber To and Zombeavers.
